From Spyblog: The Association of Chief Police Officers has published its 'Practice Advice on the Management and Use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition'.
The post calls attention to the potential for the guidelines to result in 'false positives' and innocent people being flagged up for stop and search. Also some categories for 'flagging' vehicles do not seem to be indicative in any way of having any involvement in criminality such as 'Protest' - presubably flagging the driver as involved in protests.
